About Andrea Aimar

Professional Journey

Andrea Aimar is a photographer based in Shanghai, where he has been living for several years. Passionate about documentary and editorial work, he discovered his love for photography during university and has been developing his craft ever since. Although he began pursuing photography professionally only in 2023, Andrea has already built a distinctive approach that blends curiosity, sensitivity, and cultural awareness.

Since embarking on his professional journey, Andrea has traveled extensively across China, gaining deep insight into the country's diverse regions and communities. His work reflects a strong engagement with the people and stories he encounters, capturing both everyday life and unique cultural perspectives. In 2025, he joined the French press agency Hans Lucas, which now represents his reportage and documentary photography, further solidifying his presence in the international photography scene.

In addition to his documentary work, Andrea recently began collaborating with the Rome-based Gruppo Editorial LiveMedia for live music photography, expanding his creative scope. While currently based in Shanghai, he frequently returns to Piemonte, the Italian region where he grew up, maintaining a connection to his roots and drawing inspiration from both his home country and his experiences abroad.
